East Quay Vision is happy to be involved and support the local community – as well as the wider world – in promoting the awareness of looking after eyesight.

East Quay Vision has visited a number of Primary Schools to give educational talks to the children about the aspects of healthy eating and the importance of having your eyes tested. We have also visited other groups, such as the WI and University of the Third Age. We had to pause this over covid and hope to restart again now.

We have also had the pleasure to visit local Nurseries to talk to the staff and parents about protecting their little ones from the harmful rays of the sun. With that in mind we were pleased to be able to provide the parents and staff with sunscreens that they could use in their cars and this was welcomed by the nurseries themselves who have strict guidelines about protecting the children from the sun.

We also donated reflective jackets to the reception year at Wembdon Primary School. This helps keep the children visible and safe whilst they get exercise walking to and from school.

East Quay Vision supports various charities and regularly donate to Somerset Sight. We have also collected a vast amount of old spectacles kindly donated from our patients which are in turn dispatched to Vision Aid Overseas who distribute them.

East Quay Vision welcomes the opportunity to continue to be involved within the local community and to be able to offer any support where possible.
